Some Crab Apple Varieties include

• Malus purpurea 'Eleyi' or 'Eleyi Crabapple' (elleye ) is generally a smaller growing tree to around 5m. Foliage has a purple tinge and flowers are a deep pink. A good fruit producer and can be grown in a container.
• Malus purpurea 'Aldenhamensis' has deeper purple flowers than most that are long lasting in spring, followed by a deep green foliage that turns a good purple to crimson red in autumn.
• Malus floribunda var. purpurea has single red flowers and purple foliage
• Malus spectabilis 'Plena' is a more upright tree to around 5m but with a spread or around 3m. Flowers are attractive orange pink, semi double and fragrant. Also known as the double flowering Chinese Crab Apple this is one of the oldest crab apple cultivars, its narrow habit makes it useful foe smaller gardens
