Also known as the 'London Plane Tree', Platanus x acerifolia 'Bloodgood' is used widely as a street tree as well as in larger gardens and parks.

Widely planted in streets throughout Melbourne where it is a signature tree for the 'Leafy suburbs'.

A hardy tree that thrives in urban conditions the 'London Plane Tree' will grow best in a humus rich moist soil. Reaching 14 metres metres in height with a spread of around 10 metres at maturity, Platanus x acerifolia 'Bloodgood' begins life as a fairly upright tree before developing a broad spreading crown over time.

Available from wholesalers in a range of sizes from small trees to mature specimens. Look for smaller trees that have been trained to a single leader to obtain the best possible crown shape later on.
