Camellia sasanqua 'Setsugekka'
If you are looking for a white flowering sasanqua camellia, then 'Setsugekka' could be one of the best.
Great deep green glossy foliage, white flowers with petals that are undulating, giving the p lant an informal, yet sophisticated look.
Landscaping Uses
Excellent in a part shaded position, or morning sun / afternoon shade. Use Camellia sasanqua 'Setsugekka' as a specimen plant, a screen or hedge or in the background in the garden border.
Over time Camellia 'Setsugekka' will reach around 5m in height, however easily pruned to a smaller size and suited to growing in containers and pots.
Care
A humus rich soil that is moisture retentive is best, however once established camellias are a remarkably hardy plant.
Water in well when planting and use a formulated camellia fertiliser for good early growth.
Over time Camellia sasanqua 'Setsugekka' will reach around 4m in height with a spread of 2m. Like all camellias it is easy to prune if you need to maintain a more compact growth habit.
