Convolvulus cneorum 'White'Also known as the silver bush, Convolvulus cneorum (pictured right) is a useful ground cover plant for full sun to part shade. Masses of white flowers from mid spring through summer and attractive lance shaped silvery green foliage. Evergreen, and reaching around 70cm in height it will spread to form a mound around 1m across. Useful in the garden border and suited to growing in containers. Originally from the Mediterranean, Convolvulus cneorum is well suited to the Australian climate. Grows well in seaside areas, suited to the rock garden or as a cottage garden plant. Copes well with poor soils but does not like to become waterlogged. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain more compact shape, older plants may be pruned back hard to regenerate the bush. |
